Palmetto Bug Run-In

Last week we had our first run-in with a Palmetto bug. I took a picture of it but I can't find it. For those of you who don't know what a Palmetto bug is, it is a HUGE cockroach. Everyone seems to tell us "they're perfectly normal". Nothing that big is normal!!! Mom said I should just get used to them because we'll probably be seeing a lot of them. I told her that I wasn't going to see too many more of them because they don't have them in Avon!!!

Our Bathing Beauty

Our Picnic

The other evening Ava and I had a sunset picnic on the beach for dinner while Matt fished for awhile. We were able to watch the dolphins swimming by for about 15 minutes.

Just Playing

Mom, Ava and I spent the other day at the beach. The water was soooo clear and calm. Ava liked going out to the sandbar and standing really still so the fish would nibble on her toes. I also included a picture of myself to prove that I really do exist down here! I'm just usually behind the camera.

I'm Official!!

I am officially a Floridian. Woo Hoo!! For some strange reason, I always love getting a new driver's license.

Our view

This is the view that we have from our 3rd floor balcony. It would be perfect if it weren't for the trees in the way!!

Lennie's Visit

I forgot to put pictures on from Lennie's visit so here are a couple. When Lennie was here, Matt, Lennie and I had our first cocktail night. We started out at our pool, went to the beach and back to the pool. With the help of about 11 loaded Corona's, Matt actually ended up in the ocean at about 1:00 in the morning. He admitted the next morning that without the Corona's, it never would've happened.

The Pitman's

The Pitman family came to visit June 4th-6th. Matt and John decided to rent a kayak one day which was fun. The waves were huge. It was this day they decided to become fisherman. They also proved to show they are true Hoosiers. They went to the Bass Pro Shop and picked up several things they thought they needed. One of those things was a stringer like you use to string fish on and hang over the boat. The man at Bass Pro told them that stringing up bloody fish and hanging them over the side of a kayak probably isn't the best idea since there are SHARKS out there!!!

Matt and John were going to attempt to make a sand mermaid. However, after working on it for a few minutes they decided that it's more fun when you have little kids to do it with. Two grown men making a sand mermaid wasn't as fun as they hoped!

Ava Swimming

Ava started swimming on Saturday with nothing but her arm swimmies. She even jumps in off the side of the pool. She loves the pool and the beach.

Our New House

This is a picture of our backyard.

This is one of Ava's favorite things about the house. It's the "secret door" that leads from outside by the pool into to the bathroom.

Matt likes it too because it gives him a place to put his little refrigerator.

This is our dining room...

This is our kitchen...
It's alot smaller than our old one but it works just fine!! - Less to clean : )

This is Matt and I's bedroom. It doesn't look quite like this right now since we've added our own bedroom furniture, etc.

This is the bathroom off of Matt and I's bedroom.

This is the loft up on the 3rd floor. We use it more for a living room. Or a "Man Cave" as Matt likes to call it.

This is Ava's new bedroom. We had just set up her old bedroom at home with a big girl bed and a ladybug theme. We were going to do it down here for her but she wants to keep these two little beds so Lizzie and Callie have a bed when they come to visit. How cute!

This is our spare bedroom that mom is actually using for now.

This is a landing at the top of one of the flights of stairs.

This is a guest bathroom.

This is a picture of the outside of our house. Nothing special, just a good old beach house!

And last but not least, this is the downstairs living room.

You can take the boys out of Indiana but...

Lennie came down to help us get moved in. Thank goodness he did or we would still be carting stuff in. Our bed was too big to fit up the stairs and since Matt and Lennie didn't want to take it apart, they came up with different way to get it up stairs...

Ready to go!

These are some pictures of us getting ready to leave Avon on May 27th. We couldn't forget our vacation mascot - the good old Flamingo!
